The Big Preschooler

Steven's first day of preschool was yesterday! He has really been looking forward to it as he watched David go for the past two years. We went to open house last week and then Monday when I told him his first day of school was the next day, he announced that he didn't want to go! The next morning I discovered that he thought he was going to a different school, so once we got that sorted out - he was good to go! He was very excited about having "red juice" for snack and also gave mention to the painting, singing songs and play-doh!
Here is our pre-schooler!

Stay tuned next week for David's first day of kindergarten!

A DAY OUT WITH THOMAS!

That's right, we all spent Friday afternoon with Thomas at Crossroads Village near Flint. Uncle Peter and Aunt Susan (Gup and Gams) joined in on the action too! The rain held off and we had a great time!

The boys were a little nervous meeting Sir Topham Hat.

Here are the boys and I waving out of the train.

And here are the boys in front of Thomas.

I've been meaning to mention that I have set it up that you can comment without having to be a blogspot member. At least I think I did anyways!
We had a great visit with my dad and Jane and now we are back to being just the 5 of us!
My friends from church threw a wonderful "Welcome Home Rebecca" party last Wednesday night! We also had some family there and some friends from our former church. We received so many beautiful and thoughtful gifts!

My dad and Chris and the boys went to the Tigers game on Sunday. They lost, which was a bummer, but it was a beautiful day and they had a great time!

And here is a picture of my dad and Jane with the kids yesterday morning before they left for the airport!

Barf-a-Rama!!

What a week we have had around here! It all started last Wednesday when both the boys got sick within a half hour of each other. They were both sick all day long (which is better than all night long!). Then on Thursday Chris called late morning and said he was on his way home from work because he was sick. My dad and his wife flew in that afternoon (after getting caught up in the first morning of new airport security rules). Chris stayed in bed all day Friday and the rest of us were out and about. My dad woke up sick on Saturday morning. Rebecca was being dedicated at church on Sunday morning and we were planning to have family over the to the house after the service to celebrate. We decided Saturday afternoon to cancel the party. We still had the service on Sunday morning and it was wonderful. We were so blessed to have many family and friends surrounding us for the service. My dad was able to come for the dedication and then he returned to bed!
Here are some pictures from the day. Rebecca in her "pretty dress", the 5 of us up front and then most of our friends and family that came for the service!

By this past Wedesday everyone was feeling good. Thankfully it seemed to be a "male-virus" so none of the girls got sick.
We have been enjoying time with my dad and Jane! I will post more about our adventures next time!

WELCOME!!

Welcome to our new blog! By popular demand, we have decided to keep on blogging! We will add pictures as well and will just maintain this as our family website!
We are all enjoying our summer! We have had lots of visitors and fun things to do. On July 19th we had Rebecca's readoption court appointment in Detroit. She legally came home as birth first name, birth middle name, Garvey Troesch. We applied for her delayed certificate of foreign birth. In a few weeks we should receive her Michigan birth certificate and she will legally be Rebecca Christine Garvey. Then we can apply for her Certificate of Citizenship, Social Security Number and US Passport (the paperwork continues!) While we were in Detroit we were able to visit Chris' new work site and also stop by SER Metro so they could all see the kids.
Of course, there has been a lot of swimming around here! David is learning to dive, Steven is swimming and jumping without his "floaties" and Rebecca loves the water too! Here are our swimming stars!
